Plenteous in Mercy and Truth
O Lord, my God, how great Thou art –
My Redeemer from time of youth;
Thou hast been my shield and buckler…
Plenteous in mercy and truth.
Those times I drifted far away,
And became so selfish and cold,
Thou didst hear, as I knelt to pray…
And set a flame within my soul.
The sweet fruit of Thy Spirit, Lord,
Is much better than gold to me,
And in Thy precious Holy Word…
Such rivers of pleasure I see.
Lord, Thou art full of compassion,
Thy loving grace I’ve known since youth;
In Christ, my Savior, I can see…
Thou art Plenteous in Mercy and Truth.
“For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to
forgive; and plenteous in mercy
unto all them that call upon thee.” “Thou, O Lord, art a
God full of
compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and
truth.”
(Ps 86:5,15)
